What is Intune?

Intune

Intune is an cloud-based, enterprise mobility management software service that enables your workforce be more productive as your data stays protected.

With this mobile device management software, you can manage the mobile devices used by your team when accessing data, manage the apps they use, protect the company data by controlling how it is accessed and shared, and ensuring apps/devices are compliant with security requirements of the company.

Intune is a component of EMS (Enterprise Mobility + Security) that helps manage mobile apps and devices, while integrating closely with other EMS components such as Azure AD for access and identity control, plus Azure Information Protection to protect your data. When used with Office 365, your workforce can be productive on all their devices yet still protecting your company data.

The way in which the app and device management features are used depends on what problem you’re trying to solve in your business. These problems include:

  • Protection for on-premise data and email for access on mobile devices
  • Protection of Office 365 data and mail for safe access by mobile devices
  • Issue your workforce with company phones
  • Offer a personal device or bring your own device program to employees
  • Enable employees access Office 365 securely from a public kiosk that’s unmanaged
  • Issue task workers with limited-use shared tablets
